Working for YOU
Our future in Fairfax County is better because of the active work by Kimberly alongside others in leadership fighting for our staff and students' needs.
A fierce FCPS budget advocate since 2004, Kimberly has extensive knowledge of the county and schools budget process and its relation to the state budget process. Through her experience on the Superintendent's Budget Task Force and other advisory councils, Kimberly has formed relationships with our elected leaders in Fairfax County and the Commonwealth. She has been a voice for thousands of employees and has amplified this voice by promoting FEA's involvement in countywide coalitions with county employees, firefighters, and so many other union members. She led the creation of Invest in Fairfax alongside the County Council of PTAs, Federation of Citizens, and more than 14 other advocacy groups who support funding our schools.
Kimberly has this same vision for the state.
As someone who has spent decades building relationships, Kimberly will set out to bring everyone to the table to ensure all voices are heard. Our partnership with other state organizations is something that Kimberly has supported in her work throughout the years. She is committed to continuing the work that was started by so many other great leaders in VEA. Kimberly will work towards necessary targets such as adequate funding of the Standards of Quality (SOQs) and increased teacher and support employee salaries, in addition to smaller class sizes, and other issues that can be addressed through contract negotiations at the local level and legislation at the state and federal levels.
